0.7.1!!

After many years and no real updates:

I present with FASCball 0.7.1!

The last Devlog was supposed to be for 0.2…over five years ago, and in there I wanted to thank anyone who’s downloaded the game. So:

For the people who are only now trying FASCball, and for those who tried it way back during the antifa game jam: I thank you for humouring me with this silly, silly idea.

In the wake of the settler-colony’s recent onslaught on Palestine and Lebanon, I felt the need to pick FASCball back up, update the code so it basically runs better (it’s still hella buggy), but also to add a “new Edition” toggle.

With the new toggles, various zionist dogwhistles and declarations are presented to the player. The IOF edition changes the main theme, adds an IOF edition tag, renames the teams, and changes the game version to 0.1948.

In the spirit of resistance, I’ve also added the ability to fight back after some time. It’s not a 100% guarantee, but it evens the odds, somewhat (what with the AI being pretty stupid in this game).

There are other features I’ve thought of having to this project, and I might add them one day, if there’s a demand for it.

But for now, I think 0.7.1 is the best version of FASCball it can be.
